LA Almazara: An architectural project by Philippe Starck

Philippe Starck describes LA Almazara as Andalusia: austere, rigorous, real, exaggerated, extreme, timeless, strong, spiritual and passionate. It is both the mill, the minimal tool and a monumental temple to the glory of eternal olive oil, home to only the essence of function in all the violent elegance of passion.It is a block, as cubic as possible, also monolithic, without superfluous details, only the strict minimum elaborated with rigor and obviousness, without any coating, only what is real and authentic. The respect for the place and its ecology resonates in the construction and the use of recycled concrete and recycled plastic, or the use of the existing exterior biomass for heating purposes.

LA Almazara is an authentic and sensual cultural experience. It is a historical monument in the literal sense, finding its place in the continuum of the history of Andalusia and Ronda.
